A friendly message from the team at Buffer ...

Hi there, 👋 It’s such a privilege to be emailing you in 2018! Thank you so much for being part of the Buffer community and trusting us to help you share your voice on social media. Today, I’m thrilled to share the results of two brand-new research studies with you. We thought the results were really helpful for social media planning in 2018, and I hope you do too! The State of Social 2018 Report We teamed up with Social Media Week to collect data from 1700+ marketers to show you where social media is heading in 2018. The report includes key takeaways, data snapshots and a ton of interesting insights. For example: - Live video and messaging apps are underutilized opportunities.
- Facebook and Twitter are still the leading platforms for marketers.
- Engagement is the most popular measure of ROI for social media campaigns.
3rd-Party Tools vs Native Posts Do social media networks reduce the reach of posts published via 3rd-party tools? Up until this research, we haven’t had concrete data to say “yes” or “no”. We’re hoping to change that with this experiment we ran across multiple social media tools, with the help of several awesome marketers and brands. We’re super excited to hear if either of these reports trigger any thoughts for you. Please feel free to join the conversation on the blog; you’re the inspiration for our research and we’d love to continue learning from you and supporting you. Wishing you lots of success and happiness in 2018. | | Kevan and the Buffer team | P.S. You may have also heard about Facebook’s latest News Feed update that prioritizes certain posts. Brian and Hailley from our marketing team talk about what it might mean for marketers on our weekly podcast. I hope you find it helpful and reassuring 😊 | | |
